George Gerhard, a resident of the Siloam Springs community for nearly 50 years, died at the home of his son, George, in Sperry, Okla. last Friday night. He was about 80 years of age. The body was brought to Siloam Springs for burial. Five children and 25 grandchildren survive him. Mr. Gerhard was one of the pioneer strawberry growers in the neighborhood of Siloam Springs and at one time he and his brother had out 50 acres of berries. He owned a fine farm on the Illinois river.
