Gilbert Combs, 66, of Rt. 5, Fayetteville, died Oct. 4 in a Fayetteville hospital. Born Dec. 26, 1911, at Branson, Mo., he was the son of 0llie R. and Lucinda Gertrude Womock Combs, a retired farmer and a poultry producer.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Jane Pollock Combs of the home; one son, James Gilbert Combs of Fayetteville; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Ellen Stewart of Durham, Mrs. Ruth Miner of Fayetteville and Mrs. Peggy Walker of Siloam Springs; one brother, Loren 0. Combs of Fayetteville; four sisters, Mrs. Lesta Arrasmith and Mrs. Juanita Lacy of Fayetteville, Mrs. Leo Bass and Mrs. Eunice Boehme of Fair Grove, Mo.; two stepbrothers, Orlie Womock of Springfield, Mo. and Ransom Womock of California; one stepsister, Mrs. Dorothy Shepard of Branson, Mo.; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Moore's Chapel, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Roy South officiating. Burial will be in McCord Cemetery near Elkins.
Pallbearers will be Norman Murphy, Arlis Wages, Tony Kelly, Jimmy Justus, Jerry Rogers and Jerry Pollock.

FAYETTEVILLE — Mary Jane Combs, 84, of Fayetteville died May 5, 2000, in Fayetteville.
She was born Nov. 10, 1915, in Tullahoma, Tenn., to Orvis Cecil and Jessie Robertson Pollock. She was a member of Sang Avenue Baptist Church in Fayetteville and the Northwest Arkansas Gospel Singers Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Combs.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Ellen Proctor, Ruth Miner and Peggy Piper, all of Fayetteville; two brothers, Cecil Pollock of Duncanville, Texas, and Calvin Pollock of Pryor, Okla.; four sisters, Norma King and Alberta Justus, both of Fayetteville, Ruby Carpenter of Elkins and Alice Solomon of Fayetteville; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Sang Avenue Baptist Church in Fayetteville with Paul Dennis officiating. Burial will be in McCord Cemetery at Elkins. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Beard's Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Walker, Michael Stewart, Andrew Miner, Sean Miner, Johnny Dean and Brandon Dearing.
Honorary pallbearer will be Bill Black.
