William Amos Sipe the husband of Mary Neal (Johnson) Sipe. William Amos Sipe the son of William Amos Sipe and Zora (Marlin) Sipe. Also, his step-father, Tom Caraway.


W. Amos Sipe 77, of Mount Pleasant died Monday, July 12, 2004 at his home. He was born September 25, 1926 in Sidney and was the son of William Amos Sipe and Zora Marlin Sipe.

He attended the Free Will Baptist Church. He was a cotton farmer for many years with a team of mules, and more recently raised donkeys with his son for the last 15 years.

He is survived by his wife, Neal Johnson Sipe of the home and his son, Bill Sipe of Mount Pleasant. He is also survived by a half-brother, Paul Caraway of Little Rock, a sister, Jean Sears of Dayton, Texas and two half-sisters, Marie Dover and Grace Finley both of Batesville. His grandson, Wesley Sipe, of Batesville also survives him.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Tom Caraway and two step-brothers, Flino Caraway and Frank Caraway.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Caraway, Gene Helm, Delbert Johnson, Jack Helms, Tim Johnson, Erbie Perkey and Jason Briley.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 at the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home Chapel in Melbourne with Reverend Charles Barnett officiating.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Burial will be in Barren Fork Cemetery in Mount Pleasant under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Melbourne.
