KELCHNER, James W. - James W. Kelchner, 71 years of age, died at his home here at 3:45 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, 1927 of pneumonia. He was born in Foulersville, Pa. February 19, 1856 and was a son of Aaron and Elesbett Kelchner. He married Miss Emma A. Conner in 1882. To this union three sons were born, Frank R. of Durant, Okla.; Freas C. and James W., Jr. of Parsons, Kan. He is survived by his wife and the above named sons; also a brother, Wes Kelchner of Grants Pass, Oregon and a sister of Berwick, Pa. Mr. Kelchner joined with the church when a young man and lived a consistent Christian life until his death, being a member of the Congregational Church here. He moved with his family from Pennsylvania to the state of Kansas in 1886 where he lived until 1914, coming to this community at that time. During the years Mr. Kelchner lived in this community he made many friends. He lived a quiet, unassuming, conscientious life, loyal to his country, family and friends. he was a good man and will be missed by his many friends. Funeral services were held from the Congregational church Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. The Rev. I.B. Ballmer, pastor, conducting the services. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery at Siloam Springs, directed by Carpenter Bros., funeral directors. Mrs. Kelchner and the other relatives have the sympathy of the entire community in their sadness.
