Charles Eugene Short the son of George H. and Harriet (Weeks) Short.


Charles E. Short, 69, of Batesville died Sunday, May 2, 2004.
Born Jan. 17, 1935, in Kansas City, Mo., he was the son of George H. and Harriet Weeks Short.

He was an artist, an illustration technician, a photographer, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was of the Seventh-day Adventist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Fulbright Short; two sons, Charles Short Jr. of Omaha and Lewis H. Short of Oregon; two daughters, Becky Bolejack and Sherrie Fisk, both of Missouri; a sister, Marie Pulley of Georgia; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Carylon Mae Ripps; a brother, Gloyd Short; and an infant son.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Seventh-day Adventist Church on Gap Road with Laurie DeWitt officiating.

Burial will follow in Barren Fork Cemetery at Mount Pleasant under the direction of Willis-Hays Funeral Service in Batesville.

Pallbearers will be Otis Draper, Earl Gwinn, Ebby Shreve, Keane McGough, David Bishop, Harvey Nash, Aaron Parker and David Butcher.

Honorary pallbearers are Billy Fuller, Ben Becker and grandsons.
