BENTONVILLE — Ruby Alford, 82, of Springdale died Feb. 26, 2004, in Bentonville. She was born Feb. 9, 1922, in Marcel, N.C., to John Lee and Lodemie Willis Buckner. She moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1939 from North Carolina. She worked as a nurse at Springdale memorial hospital for 26 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. She raised cocker spaniels and enjoyed flowers and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Alford, in 1969, and husband, Clifford Logue, in 1990.
Survivors include three sons, Glenn Alford and wife Mary of Fayetteville. Bill Alford and wife Berniece of Springdale, Timothy Logue and wife Patricia of Springdale; two daughters, Brenda Mullins and husband Neil of Bentonville, Sharon Gibbins of Salt Lake City, Utah; two brothers, Bob Buckner of Pennington, Va. and Clyde Buckner of Mars Hill, N.C.; one sister, Bertha Ponder of Mars Hill; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale with the Rev. Mike Martin officiating with burial in Friendship Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jim Ed Duncan, Kelly Alford, Jason Harter, Spence Mabry, Mark Herber and Terron Hartley.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
