Marvin Ezell, 75, of Drasco, died Tuesday May 22, 2012 at White County Medical Center in Searcy.
He was born April 18, 1937 in Drasco to the late Jasper Ezell and Reatha Laster Ezell.
Mr. Ezell was retired from Chaparral Trailers formally in Quitman. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. A few of his favorite things were sitting on the front porch of his home visiting with friends, family and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his life. He was a mentor to many and was never afraid to share his beliefs with those who would listen. Most importantly he loved Jesus and attended Drasco General Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Dortha Jewel Steadman Ezell of the home: three son’s and daughters in law, Leon and wife Nancy of Drasco, Dennis and wife Tammy of Quitman, and Dewayne and wife Kimberly of Drasco. One brother, Earl Ezell of Drasco; two sisters, Mary Sprinkle of Tumbling Shoals and Martha Coffman of Greers Ferry.
Marvin is also survived by grandchildren Darriel Ezell and wife Jessica of Quitman, Vanessa Rogers and husband Paul of New Caney, Texas; Samantha Ezell and Roseanna Ezell of Quitman. Great-Grandchildren include Caitlin and Ryan Ezell of Quitman, Suzannah, Matthew and Deanna Rogers of New Caney Texas and a host of many nieces, nephews and many friends.
Marvin was preceded in death by two sisters Helen Ward and Grace Draper.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 24th from 6pm to 8pm at Family Funeral Service in Heber Springs.
Services will be Friday, May 25 at 10:00 am at the Drasco General Baptist Church in Drasco with the Reverend Billy Henderson officiating with interment to follow at Sipes Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Ezell, Jerry Ezell, Roger Gilpen, Hubert Glenn Gilpen, Dellos Clemons, Marty Moss, Sam Foust and Albert Ray (Peewee) Draper as honorary pallbearer.
