THORNTON, Maud JOHNSON - Mrs. Maud Thornton, daughter of W.T. Johnson, died Saturday, June 8th at 7:45 a.m. at the home of her brother, Dick F. Johnson, on North Arkansas Street on the East side, after a long illness. She was 25 years, 8 months and 18 days old. Most of her life was spent in Rogers, her husband, a Fayetteville boy, dying a year ago last fall in Texas, where he had gone for the benefit of his health. The cause of Mrs. Thornton's death was consumption. She leaves a child, a little boy about 4 years old, who will be adopted by its grandfather, Mr. Johnson. Funeral services were held at the residence of Dick Johnson Sunday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. J.D. Harris.
