Kenneth Ray Brooks the son of Jasper "Worne" Warren Brooks and Effie (Weatherford) Brooks.


Kenneth Ray Brooks, 56, of Dallas, formerly of Batesville, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at a hospital in Fayetteville. Born Dec. 11, 1946, in Mount Pleasant, he was the son of Warren Brooks and Effie Weatherford Brooks.

He was an employee of High Country Auto Sales in Plano, Texas.

Survivors include a son, Jackie Bagwell of Fayetteville; two daughters, Tracie Tackett of Lowell and Selena Kelly of St. Cloud, Fla.; two brothers, Jerry Brooks of Tahlequah, Okla., and Jasper Brooks of Roland, Okla.; four sisters, Shelby O’Neal of Plano, Anna Mae Cooley of Mount Pleasant, Jean Smith of Melbourne and Sharon Smith of Sidney; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ella Faye Brooks; and four brothers, Rob Brooks, Ruddell Brooks, Roy C. Brooks and Gerald Brooks.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Willis-Hays Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Mike Brooks officiating.

A private burial will be at a later date.

Pallbearers will be Tony Brooks, Terry Brooks, Paul O’Neal, Chris Smith, Calvin Brooks and Tim Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Roberts, Steve Roberts, Vic Cheney, Terry Selby, Caesar Palacio and Bill Brooks.
