Dorothy May (Johnson) Swint, age 62, of Wilburn, Arkansas, passed away at her home on Friday, September 16, 2005. Born in Oakdale, Louisiana, on May 29, 1943, she was the daughter of Mabel Dorothy (Verheyden) Johnson and the late Oscar Johnson. Dorothy was a waitress, and she was a member of the Wilburn General Baptist Church and the Gideon Auxiliary. She was also a member of Baptist Health Medical Center Auxiliary and was named the 2005 BHMC Heber Springs Auxiliarian of the Year. Dorothy was preceded in death by her father and one sister, Mary Evelyn Lee. She is survived by her husband, Larry L. Swint of Wilburn, AR; one son, Vernon Blake Swint of Kellogg, Idaho; one daughter, Pam Meredith of Wilburn; her mother, Mabel Dorothy Johnson of Dallas, Texas; three brothers, Wilbur Lee Johnson of Tulare, California, Herman O. Johnson of Beaumont, Texas, and Lynn Michael Johnson of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Joyce McElroy of Lynden, Washington, and Blondean Bartlett of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Dorothy is also survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives, and her many friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, Sept. 19, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 2:00 p.m. at Wilburn General Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Ezell officiating. Interment will follow in Magness Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc.
