Janice L. Cockrum

Janice L. Cockrum, age 72 of Cotter, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Cockrum was born September 10, 1940 in Oakland, Arkansas to Lexie and Reba (Hodges) McCracken. On October 7, 1958 she married Daniel C. “Don” Cockrum in Reno, Nevada. Mrs. Cockrum worked at Baxter Healthcare for several years. She was the former owner of Dogwood Grocery & Laundry and Economy Tire. She also worked at Wal-Mart for many years.

Survivors include daughters Christy (Carl) Pope of Canton, Georgia, and Collette (Sammy) Chandler of Bull Shoals, grandchildren Russ (Paige) Chandler, Carl Jr. and Ben (Kaceylynn) Pope, Courtney (Donnie) Wallace, Tracey (Justin) Moore, Kelly (Ben) Thomason, Aaron (Traci) Hughes, and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel C. “Don” Cockrum, parents, and sister Sharon McCracken Parnell.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, February 24, 2013 2:00 P.M. at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel. A Visitation will be Saturday, February 23, 2013 from Noon until 9:00 P.M. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Interment will be at Baxter Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks or to the Baptist Health Foundation at 9601 Interstate 630, Exit 7 Little Rock, AR 72205. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
