Marvin Thomas Alexanderson, son of the late J. C. Alexanderson and Beulah Mullins, was born December 21, 1933 in Monango, North Dakota. He departed this life May 7, 2012 in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 78 years, 4 months and 16 days. He was united in marriage to Pasty Byrd on October 17, 1959 and to this union one child was born. He spent his life as a son, brother, husband, father, provider and friend. He was employed by McDonnell Douglas Aircraft in Melbourne, retiring after 25 years of employment. He was of the Luthran faith.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years; Pasty Alexanderson of the home; one daughter and son-in-law: Penney and Bob Smith of Longmont, Colorado; one sister: Leona Rye of Port Angelo, Washington; nieces: Debbie Barrington and Melody Swanson; nephew: Russell Rye, son, Randy Alexanderson of Washington, and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother; Arvin Alexanderson.
Funeral service was held Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne with Donna Alberts officiating. Burial was at Old Philadelphia Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home. Visitation was Wednesday, May 9 from 6-8 p.m.
Pallbearers: Roy Bookout, Dean Phipps, Dean Hutchins, Dennis Wilson, Charles Lamb and Mike Russell.
Honorary Pallbearers: Bill Cooper, Lowell Melton, Tom Phipps, Tony Cooper, Tim Vest, Tom Martin, Arnold Harris, Marvin Hoskinds, Norman Hardaway, Doyle McCollum.
