MELBOURNE — Eldon "Bony" Loggains, 80, of Melbourne died Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, in Batesville.
Born Dec. 10, 1930, in Guion, he was the son of Don and Audie Arnold Loggains.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Earldean Wilson on Dec. 6, 1962, in Melbourne. He worked in Arizona cutting timber and was employed by McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Factory and later by Boeing Aircraft, retiring after many years of employment. He was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years; a son, Eddy Loggains of Melbourne; a daughter, Sandy Massey of Salem; two brothers, Leon Loggains of Violet Hill and Earl Loggains of Snowflake, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Will Loggains, Matt Loggains, Roy Massey and Samantha Massey; and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William Loggains; and a sister, Ina Sims.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Belview Baptist Church with Doyne Robertson officiating. Burial will be in Old Philadelphia Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jason Loggains, Brian Loggains, Bucksey Harman, Bob Blankenship, Lowell Wheelis, Dusty Cooper and Tyler Cooper.
Honorary pallbearers are Will Loggains, Matt Loggains, Roy Massey, Donal Dowdle, James Haney, Wendell Shrable, Donald Black and Charles Dowdle.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight.
