Charles Edward Harmon, son of the late Lee Hayden and Clara Merle Conyers Harmon was born September 22, 1929 in Melbourne. He died February 8, 1998 in Little Rock. He was 68. Mr Harmon was a brick mason by trade and of the Protestant faith. Survivors include one daughter, Rhonda Kay Harmon of Melbourne; two sons, Dennis Charles Harmon and Dale Edward "Bucksey" Harmon both of Melbourne; five sisters, Lydia Hutchins, Opal Stroud, Shirley Walker, and Minnie Crotts all of Melbourne and Gladys Eisenbraun of Seattle, Washington; one brother, David Harmon of Jonesboro and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, J. C. Harmon and J. B. Harmon. Funeral services were held February 10, 1998 at the Roman and Billy Memorial Chapel in Melbourne with Tim Porter officiating. Pallbearers were Clay Moser, Dean Hutchins, Arnie Hutchins, Doyle McCollum, Dave McCollum and Jeff Moser. Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Rush and Bob Blankenship. Interment was at the Old Philadelphia Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
