HILL, Oscar J. - {from The Siloam Springs American} Oscar J. Hill, a veteran of the World War and who was one of the first 25,000 men to arrive in France with General Pershing, died at his home here Tuesday at the age of 42 years. During his service overseas, which covered a period of a little more than two years, Mr. Hill participated in almost every important engagement, including the Argonne Forest battle, was gassed twice and wounded once. He was a member of the First Division, Battery F of the 6th Field Artillery. Besides his service overseas Mr. Hill was with Pershing on the Mexican expedition, making a total service of seven years in the United States army.
