ALBIN, S.O. - (from The Siloam Springs Register, Feb. 14.) The body of S.O. Albin, who was killed in a dynamite explosion at the Clapp farm yesterday morning, was literally torn to pieces. At the time of the explosion Mr. Albin was carrying twenty-two sticks of dynamite in a crate under his arm and a box of caps in the other hand. He had just placed a stick of the dynamite in a hole and was in the act of lighting the fuse when somehow the whole thing exploded. His helper was going ahead making the holes and did not see the explosion. He ran to the nearest phone and reported the accident. The body was blown about twenty-five feet, over a wire fence, and when found one leg was hanging to the wire. The body was horrible mangled and burned, being stripped almost entirely of the clothing. The coroner's jury sitting on the case reported the following verdict: "That S.O. Albin came to his death by the accidental discharge of dynamite in hand while sub-soiling his farm."
