ASH FLAT — Vernell Black, 83, of Ash Flat died Saturday, July 4, 2009, at Batesville.
She was born Sept. 24, 1925, in Izard County to the late Parks Harvey and Eliza McNelley Lankford.
Also preceding her in death were her husband, Bernard Black; brother, Harvey Lankford; and sisters, Veldia Cowart and Eathel Grimes.
Survivors include a sister, Margaret Carter of Brownsville, Calif., several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Qualls Cave City Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Roberts Cemetery near Franklin.
