Lois I. Mullins, age 74, of Quitman, passed away Friday, April 17, 2009, at the Conway Regional Medical Center in Conway. Born in Quitman on July 13, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Elsie (McCoy) Balentine and the widow of Carmel Ray Mullins.
A lifetime resident of Quitman, Mrs. Mullins was a homemaker, a loving wife and mother and a secretary for Burrows Industries. She was a Christian and a member of the Center Point Baptist Church where she was the church secretary, a Sunday School teacher, and kept the records for the Center Point Cemetery.
She is survived by two sons, Kevin Mullins and Steven Mullins of Taylor, Mich.; one daughter, Melissa Mullins of Quitman; two brothers, Bob Balentine and Edward Balentine of Quitman; one sister, Annette Taylor of Quitman; and a granddaughter, Angel Mullins of Taylor, Mich. Mrs. Mullins is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
Services were April 20 in the Center Point Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Hill officiating. Interment followed in the Center Point Cemetery. Pallbearers were Keith Taylor, Brian Taylor, Eric Balentine, David Balentine, Josh Balentine, and Eddie Balentine. Honorary pallbearers were Rich Massey and Stephen Schaumleffel.
