FAYETTEVILLE — Vernon L. Harrelson, 65, of Fayetteville died April 19, 2000, at his home.

He was born March 24, 1935, in Sulphur City to Doyle and Jewel Prather Harrelson.

He was a farmer and worked in road construction in both Arkansas and California for 17 years and was formerly employed by Fayetteville Milk Co., University Creamery and Hiland Dairy for a total of 15 years.

He was a member of Richland Baptist Church and was a longtime resident of Arkansas.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Lacy Harrelson of the home; four brothers, Carl Harrelson of Carlsbad, N.M., Homer Harrelson of Newman, Calif., Leonard Harrelson of Fayetteville and Raymond Harrelson of Sacramento, Calif.; one sister, June Chacon of Sacramento.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Harris Baptist Church in Elkins with the Rev. Lynnville Eaton officiating.

Burial will be in Round Mountain Cemetery near Fayetteville.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Nelson's Funeral Home in Fayatteville.

The family requests memorials be made to Washington Regional Hospice, 4241 Gabel, Fayetteville, 72703.
