Malcolm Rowan Slayton, age 68, of Conway, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. Born in Vicksburg, Mississippi, on November 2, 1936, he was the son of the late John M & Lilla L (Thayer) Slayton. A former resident of Kensett, Mr Slayton had lived in Conway for the past fifteen years. He was an auto mechanic and a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Slayton enjoyed being outdoors, and he loved his family. He was of the Christian faith. Mr Slayton was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Jean (Lackey) Slayton, his parents, and one grandson, Joseph Carl Slayton. Survivors include his five sons & daughters-in-law, Joe M & Carla Slayton of Roanoke, Virginia, Jamie L & Janetta Slayton & Darien G & Debra Slayton, all of Conway, Lindell R & Patricia Slayton of Damascus, & Ronald W & Deborah Slayton of Sherwood, special family friend, Christy Sledge, six grandsons, one granddaughter, and one great-granddaughter. Mr Slayton is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.
Pallbearers will be Joe Slayton, Jamie Slayton, Darien Slayton, Ron Slayton, Chris Smith, and Mike Cook.
