James Lowell Pankey of Romance died May 22, 2004, at Southridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Heber Springs.
Born January 22, 1915 at Carrier Mills, Ill., he was 89. He is the son of the late Harry and Nora Mae Layman Pankey.
He was a retired machinist, coal miner and a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Evelyn Bennett Pankey; two sons, James A. and Larry J. Pankey of Romance; one daughter, Phyllis Pankey Lownds of LaBelle, Fla.; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held May 25 at Romance Cemetery with Rev. E.G. Lester officiating.
Arrangements are by Heber Springs Funeral Home.
