SPRINGDALE — Gerald "Jerry" William Pope, 70, of Springdale died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, in Springdale. He was born April 14, 1942, in Fort Smith, Ark., to W.E. "Buck" and Elizabeth Sharum Pope.
Terry worked with IBEW local #700 in Fort Smith for many years as an electrician. He helped on numerous construction projects, including Springdale Memorial Hospital, the University of Arkansas and Nuclear One. He was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church. He loved to garden and spend time with his family. He loved the Arkansas Razorbacks and Kansas City Chiefs. Jerry served in the Arkansas National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Pope in 2010, to whom he was married Oct. 9, 1965; and one stepbrother, Dee Hayes.
Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Slater and husband, Stan, of Springdale; one grandson, Luke Slater; one granddaughter, Logan Slater; his stepmother, Phyllis Pope of Fort Smith; one stepbrother, Randy Hayes of Pine Bluff; one stepsister, Terry Vaughan of Fort Smith.
Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday 10 a.m. at St. Raphael Catholic Church. Rosary services will be Monday at 7 p.m.
Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at St. Raphael Catholic Church.

SPRINGDALE — Sharon Lee Pope, 66, of Springdale, died July 26, 2010, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. She was born Dec. 24, 1943, in Fayetteville, Ark., to Lee and Evelyn Woodbridge Conley. After the death of her parents, her grandmother, Pearl Woodbridge, took her and her sisters in and raised them.
She graduated from Huntsville High School in 1961; she graduated from St. Edward Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Fort Smith in 1964. She worked as an RN in Northwest Arkansas for 37 years, first at St. Mary's and later, for Dr. John Ralph Power. She enjoyed helping others and doing so, often.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald "Jerry" Pope, whom she married on Oct. 9, 1965; daughter, Lisa Slater and husband, Stan, of Springdale; two sisters, Mary Jo Hankia and husband, Waite, of Springdale, and Roberta Box and husband, Dr. Ivan Box, of Huntsville; a granddaughter, Logan LeeAnn Slater; and grandson, Luke Slater.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springdale, with the Rev. John Connell officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery, under the direction of Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today with the Rosary beginning at 7 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel.
