MUSTEEN, Zilpha Catherine KENNAN - Mrs. Zilpha C. Musteen, wife of N.B. Musteen, died at four o'clock Tuesday afternoon at her home one and one quarter miles northwest of Rogers. She had suffered for some time with tubercular trouble and it was realized some time ago that she had little chance for recovery. She had been very low for several weeks and her death had been daily expected so it did not come as a surprise to the family. Funeral services were held at the Christian church yesterday at 2:30 o'clock and were conducted by the pastor, Rev. J.P. Dillon. Among those present at the funeral were four members of the Class of 1897 of Rogers Academy, the class with which Mrs. Musteen graduated: Laural Parks, Cora Stroud, Bertha Copp and Fred Barnett. The funeral was very largely attended, attesting to the high esteem and loving favor with which the deceased had been held by her many friends and neighbors. Zilpha Catherine Kennan was born October 22, 1877 at Brightwater, this county, and moved with her parents to Rogers in 1886, where she grew to womanhood. She united with the Christian church at the age of 12 years and had always been a faithful follower of the cause she so early espoused. She was married to N.B. Musteen on Feb. 14, 1899 and the husband and four children survive her to mourn the great loss of the wife and mother. She is also survived by her mother, Mrs. Kennan; one sister, Mrs. Jennie Farnum, and three brothers, W.B., A.A. and Geo. Kennan, all of Rogers. Mrs. Musteen had always been popular among those who knew her best and her unfailing kindness and consideration of all who came in contact with her daily life will long be remembered. She did not live in vain and the memory of her life will be a cherished inheritance for her children.
