J. M. (Jim) Russell, 77 years old, of Natural Dam, Arkansas died Monday July 10, 1967 at a local hospital. A retired farmer and lifelong resident of Natural Dam where he was born October 31, 1889. Mr. Russell was the son of A. J. and Mary (Murphy) Russell. He was married July 28, 1920 to Rena Boyette who died August 8, 1963. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Russell gave the site for the Grandview Assembly of God church at Natural Dam of which they were charter members. The Russell reunion was held June 18 on Fathers Day and there were 130 relatives present. The family reports that Mr. Russell leaves 104 direct descendants.
Survivors are three sons, six daughters; two brothers; eight sisters; 35 grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Grandview Assembly of God church with the pastor. W. A. Sowells, officiating, assisted by Edwin Burris, pastor of the First Assembly of God in Van Buren, Arkansas. Burial in the famly lot at Hall Cemetery was directed by Ocker Funrdal Home.
