Duluth V. Ghent, age 88, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2011, at the Southridge Village Nursing and Rehab Center. Born in Pine Snag on December 21, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Thomas M. and Ella Carolyn (West) Ghent.
Miss Ghent was a retired insurance secretary for Western Union, and she was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Ottie Bell; and three brothers, Martin Dewey Ghent, Thomas Everett Ghent, and Ralph Monroe Ghent.
Miss Ghent is survived by one sister, Mellie Jane Roberts of Heber Springs; and nine nieces and nephews. Miss Ghent is also survived by her many friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, Jan. 17, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Olmstead Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 18, at 10:00 a.m. at the Olmstead Chapel with Dr. Robert Linderman officiating. Interment will follow in the Good Springs Cemetery. Wayne Rose, Jimmy Houston, Martin Ghent, Donnie Ghent, Greg Verser, Jerry Hughes, (Wayne Garrison, and Shawn Crockett) will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Harold Verser and David Crockett.
