Donald Eugene Cooper, 71, of Judsonia, died Monday, December 22, 2008 at his home. He was born in Bald Knob March 1, 1937 a son of the late Lindsey Clifford and Rosa Maye Haus Cooper. Mr. Cooper retired from GTE after twenty-five plus years of service, was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ethel Cooper of the home; sons, Clayton Cooper of Yellville, Gregory Cooper of Houston, Texas and Gabriel Cooper of Cedar Rapids, Ia; daughters, Kimberly Weeks of Beebe, Lynnette Schaefer of Missoula, Montana and Gracie McElroy of Judsonia; brothers, Larry Cooper of Judsonia, Jerry Cooper of Bald Knob, Shelby Cooper of Bald Knob, Tommy Cooper of Judsonia, J.R. Cooper of England and David Cooper of Evening Shade; a sister, Anitta Cooper of Judsonia; 23 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter.
Services will be on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Bald Knob. Interment will follow in the Good Springs Cemetery.
