Emmitt Barnes of Conway died November 3, 2012, at his home in Conway. Born in Pearson on March 20, 1931, he was 81. He was the son of Robert Otis and Janey Barnes.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Wilma Mae Taylor Barnes; four children: Paul, Emma, Alice, Eric; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Billy Jim and Kenneth Ray Barnes.
Visitation will be held November 5 from 6-8 p.m. at the Olmstead Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held November 6 at 11 a.m. in the Olmstead Chapel with Pastor Odell Altom officiating. Interment will follow in the Good Springs Cemetery. Eric Taylor, Kent Taylor, Zachary Barnes, Paul D. Barnes, Danny Griffin, and Kevin Fraser will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Jim Barnes and Kenneth Ray Barnes.
