BROCKWELL — Virgel Lee Burkhart, 61, of Brockwell died Friday, March 4, 2011, in Melbourne.

Born May 16, 1949, in Fredericktown, Mo., he was the son of Edgar Lee Burkhart and Edna Deloris Williams Burkhart.

He was united in marriage to Jo Jean McNeal on July 4, 1971.

He was employed as a factory worker and a carpenter. He was of the Protestant faith.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years; a son, Scott Randall Burkhart of Memphis; a daughter, Kayla Oakes of Melbourne; five brothers, Bobby Burkhart of Grandin, Mo., and Everett Burkhart, Ronnie Burkhart, Jimmy Burkhart and Glen Burkhart, all of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; five sisters, Edna Burkhart, Mary Ellen Burkhart, Judy Burkhart and Jeannie Burkhart, all of Poplar Bluff, and Barbara Rinadagar of Branson, Mo.; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jason Lee Burkhart; and two brothers, Jim Burkhart and Tommy Burkhart.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Antioch Cemetery with Stuart Jones officiating. Arrangements are by Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
