MELBOURNE - Melba Anne Bohannan of Franklin died Saturday, March 8, 1997, at her home.

Born Sept. 26, 1942, in Wilson, she was the daughter of Ernest Halford and Ellene Halford Haner.

She was a licensed practical nurse for the Sharp County Nursing Home and a member of First Baptist Church of Franklin.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Bohannan; four daughters, Karen Hayworth of Gore, Okla., Luauana Underwood of Ash Flat, Teresa Lowry of Brockwell and Pam Bohannan of Franklin; two sons, Charles Billy Bohannan Jr. of Gore, Okla., and Daniel Everett Bohannan of Franklin; four sisters, Ruth Carter, Ernestine Carr, Linda Turner and Becky Woollums; five stepsisters, Linda Long, Lucille O'Brien, Ruby Pratt, Sonya Mustin and Cindy Bass; two brothers, Robert Wayne Halford and Robby Earl Halford; six stepbrothers, David Williams, Michael Williams, George Haner Jr., Jerry Haner, Ray Haner and Norman Haner; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; a sister, Janie Cole; and her grandparents.

The funeral was March 11 at the Roman and Billy Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne with Alvin Wiles officiating.

Burial was in Antioch Cemetery in Zion.
