Ira Madewell, 75, of Lowell died July 25, 1991, at a Fayetteville nursing home. He was born Aug. 8, 1916, at Densmore, the son of Adam Sylvester and Mary Alberta Duke Madewell.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie Madewell of the home; three sons, James Clifford Madewell of Solomon, Md., Lonnie Madewell of Fayetteville and Donald Ray Madewell of Lowell; one daughter, Tommie Veda Sprinkles of Rogers; two sisters, Nellie Bea Moore of Springdale and Elsa Bearden of Salinas, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Springdale with the Rev. Cecil Garrison officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Carl Madewell, Vernon Madewell, Vester Madewell, Alfred Madewell, Danny Madewell and Orval Walker.

Nellie Imogene Wall Madewell, 87, of Springdale died April 10, 2003, at Fayetteville. She was born Dec. 31, 1915, in Kingston, the daughter of James Franklin and Mary Pearl Dorsey Wall. She was a member of Liberty United Baptist Church and was formerly employed at Tyson Foods. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Madewell, to whom she married March 13, 1943, two sisters, Ella Seals and Polly McGinnis, and one grandson, Ricky Lloyd.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Clifford and Arlene Madewell of Huntsville, Lonnie and Lura Madewell of Fayetteville and Don and Linda Madewell of Springdale; one daughter and husband, Veda and Warren (Dick) Sprinkles of Rogers; one sister, Ida Mae Walker and husband Troy of Fayetteville; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and many friends.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2003, at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home Chapel in Springdale with the Rev. Jim Lynch officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Orvall Walker, Wayne Walker, Daryl Dixon, Alfred Madewell, Danny Madewell and Jess Madewell.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, great-grandsons, McArthur and Ben Skaggs and many nephews.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the family present from 3 to 5 p.m.
