Richard Dominic Ulrich, 69, of Springdale died May 8, 2011, peacefully at his home after a year long battle with cancer. He was born Sept. 15, 1941, in Seattle, Wash., to Martin and Gwendalyn Ulrich.

Richard coached baseball for many years. He also was an avid golfer and a bowler. His greatest accomplishment was when he bowled his 300 game. Richard was a great man, who will be missed by everyone who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stephanie Ulrich; and two sisters and one brother.

He is survived by his best friend and wife of 38 years, Sharon Ulrich of the home. He had four sons, Richard Ulrich and wife April of Bentonville, Travis Ulrich and wife Anita of Fayetteville, Brock Ulrich, and Brant Ulrich and fiancée Becky Hale, all of Springdale; two daughters, Shiree Thurston of Seattle, Wash., and Becky Ulrich Miller of Springdale; one brother, Marty Ulrich and wife Darleen of Seattle, Wash.; 16 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale, with the Rev. Johnny Ybarra officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Charlie Flannery, Brock Ulrich, Brant Ulrich, J.J. Miller, Gene Leonard, Mike Pocius, Ken Brunghart, and John Lerz.
