SPRINGDALE — Howard Ray Sewell, 58, of Springdale died March 6, 2000. Howard was born Dec. 9, 1941, in Springfield, Mo., to James Other and Burnell Hardie Sewell.
His parents and one sister, Carol Sewell Naramore, preceded him in death.
He graduated from Springdale High School in 1959. In 1992, he retired from McJunkin Truck Parts after 30 years. He was also a co-owner of Sue's Place bingo hall. For the last six years, he was employed by Wal-Mart store planning in Bentonville.
Howard enjoyed square dancing and was a past member of the Shiloh Swingers and Dudes and Dolls square-dance clubs. He also enjoyed boating and fishing.
Howard is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sue McJunkin Sewell, They have one daughter and son-in-law, Jacque and Lindell Roth; two grandchildren, Lauren and Tyler Ray; two brothers, James Robert Sewell and wife Sandra of Springdale, and Larry Dean Sewell and wife Brenda of Mountain Home; one sister, Peggy Ellen and husband Johnny Stamps of Del City, Okla.
He is also survived by his in-laws D.H. and Bunny McJunkin of Cave Springs; Donna and James Masterson of Elm Springs; Gary and Claire McJunkin of Tubac, Ariz.; Connie Lewis of Rogers and Dusty McJunkin of Wheeler.
Services will be held at Calvary Free Will Baptist Church in Springdale on Thursday, March 9, 2000, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Clark Snow officiating.
Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home, Highway 71B north, Springdale from 1 to 8 p.m. March 8, 2000. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Pallbearers well be Jesse Adams, Rick Roth, Trino Rodriguez, Shane Akins, Stony McJunkin and Chris Masterson.
