Lucille Mary Allen, 70, of Quitman, passed away February 23, 2011. She was born September 21, 1940, in Whittemore, Michigan, to the late Clarence Elsworth and Myrtle May (Nichols) Nickell. She was a homemaker and attended South Cross Roads Church, in Hopewell. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby, Clarence and William Nickell.
Mrs. Allen is survived by her husband, Melvin C. Allen; two sons, Charles Melvin Allen and his wife, Sylvia and David Alton Allen and his wife, Kelly, all of Quitman; one daughter, Debbie Lou Niko and her husband, Steve, of Quitman; six brothers, Calvin Elsworth Nickell, Alvin Henry Nickell, Thomas John Nickell, Ethan Leon Nickell, Francis Earl Nickell and Ray Samuel Nickell; six sisters, Dorothy Mae Nedwicke, Sylvia Ann Osborne, Goldie Marie Osborne, Etta Elizabeth Edwards, Esther Sara Ward and Pearl Sinda Priest; eight grandchildren, Seth H. Adkins and his wife, Melissa, Heather Lou Niko, Hannah Marie Niko, Charley Lynn Bridges and her husband, Kyle, Chance Alton Allen, Jesse Roy Allen, Jodie Nicole Houston and her husband, Kyle, and Tyler Melvin Niko; three great grandchildren, Dalynn Nicole Adkins, Reese Makenna Adkins, Paige Hunter Adkins and one great grandchild on the way; two step grandchildren, Susan Harris and her husband, Eric and Danielle Zornes and her husband, Richard; and six step great grandchildren, Deanna Provines, Jayden Provines, Emily Zornes, Alina Zornes, Eric Harris and Aiden Harris.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday, February 25, 2011 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, in Greenbrier. Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 26, 2011, at South Cross Roads Church, in Hopewell, with Bro. Kenneth Rolland officiating. Burial will follow in the South Cross Roads Cemetery.
