Jamie Pollock, 25, of Hamburg died Thursday, October 16, 2008, at his residence. A native of Bastrop, LA, and a lifelong resident of the Berlin community south of Hamburg, he graduated from Hamburg High School in 1999.
He is survived by his parents, Ricky and Dawana Abernathy Pollock; two brothers, Joshua Allen Pollock and Joseph Logan Pollock; his paternal grandmother, Elsie Mae West Pollock, all of Hamburg; four nieces, one nephew and a host of uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Willie Ray Pollock, and his maternal grandparents, Harland, Sr., and Barbara Abernathy.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 18, in the Mount Zion Baptist Church with Bros. Alan Eppinette and Heath Eppinette officiating. Burial followed at the Mount Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers were Randy Abernathy, Karl Pollock, Mark West, Shonni Abernathy, Heath Breedlove and Bo Abernathy. Honorary pallbearers were Raymond West, Richard Lee Adams, Calvin Stewart and Roy Bridges. Funeral arrangements were by Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home of Hamburg.
