Thada Miller Cockrill, 96, of Batesville died Monday, March 28, 2005, in the Cave City Nursing Home.
Born March 31, 1908, at Zion, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Miller. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Batesville and she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved to read (especially non-fiction) and home decorating. She was a homemaker and seamstress.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law of Peoria, Illinois, Helen and Virgil Sweeny, Louise and Virgil Zastrow and daughter-in-law, Mary Cockrill; four grandchildren: Karen Williams of Peoria; Doyle Cockrill, Alan Cockrill and wife, Deborah, Tammy Gavin and husband Peter all of Batesville; three step-granddaughters and six great-grandchildren; Nicole and Timothy Williams of Peoria; Meagan Cockrill, Hayden Cockrill, Matthew Gavin and Rachael Gavin all of Batesville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hayden Cockrill, a son, Ray Cockrill, a grandson David Zastrow and a step-granddaughter, Cynthia Williams.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2005 at Calvary Baptist Church with Jim Black officiating, assisted by Stefan Eubanks and Dr. Don Womack.
Pallbearers will be Alan Cockrill, Hayden Cockrill, Doyle Cockrill, Peter Gavin, Matthew Gavin and Timothy Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley Miller, Marcus Marlin and Joe Don Reynolds.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday.
Burial will be at Caney Springs Cemetery in Sage under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
