James "Sonny" Masterson, 64, of Elm Springs died Friday, June 11, 2004, at Springdale. He was born Feb. 1, 1940, in Knoxville (Johnson County), the son of James Clayton and Pauline Ruby Davis Masterson. He was a member of the Baptist faith and served in the United States National Guard. He was owner of Liquor to Go.
He is survived by his wife, Donna "McJunkin" Masterson, to whom he married Jan. 1, 1960; his son, Christopher Brian Masterson of Fayetteville; his daughter, Gwyn Masterson Carr of Fayetteville; his granddaughter, Alesha Carr; two sisters, Wanda "Jerri" Masterson of Tulsa, Okla., and Liz Collyge of Westville, Okla.
Funeral services were June 14, 2004, at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale with the Rev. Clark Snow officiating. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jesse Adams, Jeff Collyge, Lindell Roth, Paul Grimsley, and Gray and Rocky Thayer.
