James "Junior" Harviston, 74, of Springdale died Dec. 26, 2004, at Northwest Medical Center of Washington County in Springdale. Born Oct 20, 1930, in Berryville, he was the son of James Rufus and Cora Fanning Harviston. He married Velta Sarratt on Nov. 5, 1954, in Rogers. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and also served in the Air Force. He enjoyed traveling. His favorite place was the mountains of Wyoming and Colorado.
He is survived by his loving wife, Velta Sarratt Harviston of the home; two sons, Curtis Harviston of Springdale and Keith Harviston and wife Connie of Centerton; two daughters, Vicki Emmons of Springdale and Linda Usrey and Husband Wes of Little Flock; three grandchildren, Justin and Kara Harviston of Centerton, Cody Usrey of Little Flock; four great-grandchildren, Shaylee, Alexis and Emily Harviston and Hunter Usrey.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Sprhgdale with the Rev. Luther Scruggs officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery, Military honors will be conducted by Bella Vista VFW Post 9063.
Pallbearets will be Carl Sarratt, Dean Fanning, Jeff Corter, Justin Harviston, Cody Usrey and Steve Claypool.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Jackson, Kenny Sarratt, Danny White, Dennis McGarrah, Leslie Corter and Howard Acuff.
Visitition will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
