SPRINGDALE — George Monroe Galloway, 71, of Sprtngdale died March 14, 2000, at his home. He was born Jan. 10, 1929, in Springdale to William Edward and Goldie Weston Galloway. He was a retired automobile mechanic and attended the Colbaugh Free Will Baptist Church. He was a member and past master of Little Springs Lodge 230, Free & Accepted Masons at Hindsville, and was a 32nd-degree Mason in the Western Arkansas Scottish Rite Bodies at Fort Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Roles Galloway of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Earl Galloway and Scharlene of Springdale; three brothers, Harold Galloway and the Rev. Arthur Lee Galloway, both of Springdale, and William Galloway of Arkadelphia; one granddaughter, Brittany Galloway of Springdale.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Old Mount Zion Free Will Baptist Asscoiation Building with the Rev. Earl Dean Morris and the Rev. Eldon Bagwell officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville.

Masonic graveside rites will be by Little Springs Lodge 230, F&AM.

Pallbearers will be Dr. James Cooper, Joe Langston, Terry Easterling, Charles Spencer, Dale Fields and Dave McAlister.

Memorials may be made to Washington Regional Medical Center Hospice or to the Southern Gospel Music Association.
