James V. Stout, age 74, of Springdale, died March 12, 2012, in Springdale. He was born Dec. 15, 1937, in Kingston, Ark., the son of Claude and Elsie Reynolds Stout.

He was of the Baptist faith. He was a retired truck driver and had worked for Lou Thompson Trucking in Huntsville. He enjoyed hunting and lawn mower tractor pulls. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Fern Stout; and one son, Carlos Joe Sturdy.

He is survived by four sons, Terry Stout and Dianne of San Angelo, Texas, Calvin Stout and Pamela of Fayetteville, Bobby Stout and Anita of Huntsville and Rick Garner of Springdale; one daughter, Patricia Sisco and Terry of Springdale; one brother, Jerry Stout of Cass, Ark.; 18 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Friendship Cemetery in Springdale, under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be today from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Alma Fern Stout, 71, of Huntsville, died Oct. 3, 2005 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was born June 24, 1934, in War Eagle to James Clarence and Frances Henson Wood. She was owner and operator of Fern's Notary and Tax Service. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Troy Garner.

Survivors include her husband, James Stout, of the home, to whom she was married May 1978; two sons, Rick Garner and Sonora and Jackie Garner of Maine; four stepsons, Joe Sturdy of Rogers, Terry Stout of Huntsville, Calvin Stout of Fayetteville and Bobby Stout of Huntsville; one stepdaughter, Patricia Sisco of Springdale; three sisters, Juanita Weathers of Amarillo, Texas, Ruby Threet of Centre, Ala., and Mary Cotton of Huntsville; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, at Friendship Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Williams officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Sisco Chapel in Springdale.
