Thomas Arendale, son of Mrs. J.E. Breeze, died Monday morning at 2:30 at the home of Justice Breeze. The funeral services were held at the Central Methodist church and were conducted by Rev. J.F.E. Bates. Mr. Arendale was well known in Rogers and had lived a good part of his life here. He was working in Webb City when he contracted consumption and was obliged to return to his home here. He leaves a wife and two children as well as many friends who mourn his loss. The following tribute was handed us by his stepfather, J. E. Breeze: T.V. Arendale was born September 29th, 1861. He married Miss Mattie Ratliff and to them were born two children, a daughter who was with him at his death and a son, who is working in Kansas and did not get here to the funeral. Mr. Arendale lived in Arkansas many years then moved to Carterville, Mo. and finally to Oklahoma where his wife died of consumption. He was later married to Mrs. Nancy Trentham and went to work in the mines again where he contracted miners consumption. Last November he quit work and came to stay with me for five weeks. He went back to the mines but was never able to work again and on the 11th day of April he returned and remained until his death. My wife and I wish to offer our thanks to our friends and neighbors for the help and assistance they rendered to us in his sickness.
