EVANS, Winfield Scott - Winfield Scott Evans, prominent resident of Maysville vicinity, died at his home 3 miles south of that place on Saturday, March 3, 1923 following an attack of flu, aged 78 years, and had resided on his farm there over 60 years. He leaves his wife, three sons: Dr. Perry Evans, Hannah, Okla., Fred and Scott of Maysville, and three daughters: Mrs. Will Haley and Mrs. Henry Keith of Maysville and Mrs. Scott Yeargain of Miami, Okla. Mr. Evans was a Union soldier and for many years a member of the Baptist church. The funeral was conducted Sunday afternoon by Rev. T.F. Jones at Maysville Baptist church and the body was laid to rest in the Tinnin cemetery. The News Herald unites with friends of the family in offering sympathy.
