James R Eakes, son of the late Bee Price and Maggie Denison Price of Jonesboro was born January 28, 1942 in Lepanto. He died July 17, 2001 in Little Rock. He was 59.

Mr Eakes was a mechanic at Goforth's in Jonesboro during his working years. He was united in marriage to Anglee Biles in Mountain View March 12, 1989. He was an active member of New Bethel Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Anglee Eakes of the home; one son, Jim Eakes of Jonesboro; two daughters, Diane Correll and Christy Becker both of Jonesboro; his mother, Maggie Price of Jonesboro; one step-daughter, Theresa Barnes of Melbourne; five sisters, Doris Tatcher of Texas; Nancy Simmons of Batesville; Alice Monteniszs of Bono; Barbara Davis of Texas and Brenda Price of Jonesboro; six grandchildren; eight nephews; ten nieces and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Bee Price.

Pallbearers were Bradley Brooks, Sonny Brooks, Morris Shaver, Randall Lovelace, Kenny Morrison and Jim Haley. Honorary pallbearer was Eudell Smith.
