Adah Roten Dieter was born in Sage, Arkansas on June 19, 1921 to the late Sam and Mae Wommack Roten. She departed this life on March 28, 2009 at Pioneer Nursing Home in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 87 years, 9 months and 9 days. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Adah moved to Bristol, Connecticut during World War II to work at Pratt Whitney Aircraft. While there, she met and married the late Edward Dieter in 1947 and they relocated to Jonesboro, Arkansas in 1968 where she lived until she had a massive stroke in 2004.
Adah is survived by one sister, Tennie Edwards of Magnolia, Arkansas; one brother, James M. Roten and his wife, Ruth of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; three nieces: Toni Roten Lawrence and her husband, Dwight of Melbourne, Kathryn Edwards Dickson and her husband, Bud of Magnolia; and Evelyn Roten Yahr of Sherwood; three nephews: David Edwards and his wife Elizabeth of Hernando, Mississippi, Michael Roten and his wife, Judy of Russellville, and Danny Roten of Newport; five great-nephews; five great-nieces; three great-great-nephews; and three great-great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one brother, Dean Roten; and a niece, DeAnna Roten Russell.
Private family services will be held on Wednesday with Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Melbourne in charge.
