G.W. Horner, age 88, an old Confederate veteran, died at his home at Newburg Sunday and was buried at Knob Creek. Born in Tennessee in 1844, he came to Arkansas when a young man and spent the remainder of his life here. He was a resident of Melbourne several years and was marshal of the town when we had open saloons here. He is survived by his aged widow and 4 children and 22 grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W.M. Cooper.
