Pigeon Hill Burial Ground
The Pigeon Hill Burial Ground was established and ordained in the 1840s. The cemetery ultimately covered an area of five acres and had sections for both white and black burials. The last burial of the 20th century occurred in 1923, thereafter it was virtually abandoned except for a small plot maintained by the Frisby and Harmon families. In 2001, Oak Grove Baptist church took custody of the cemetery for renovation and reopening to further use. It remains dedicated to the Earthly Memory and Heavently Hope of all laid to rest here.
