Myrtle Parks, 71, of Van Buren died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, in a local hospital. She was born June 14, 1932, in Alix. She was a retired employee of Van Buren School District. Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Second Baptist Church in Van Buren with burial at Hall Cemetery in Natural Dam under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith. She is survived by her husband, George; two daughters, Rosemarie Knight of Van Buren and Joyce Moses of Rudy; three sons, Donald and George Parks Jr., both of Van Buren, and Ronald Parks of Fort Hood, Texas; a sister, Shirley Dalton of Van Buren; two brothers, T.J. Roberts of Fort Smith and Jimmy Roberts of Oklahoma City; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Robert and Garland Simmons, Bill Koleszar, Jim Chastain, Randy Belt and Lin Mayfield. Times Record Online
