Linval Ray Reading
Linval Ray Reading, 66, of Springdale went home to be with his Lord on March 18, 2007, at his home. He was born April 7, 1940, in Gentry to Fred and Eula Philpott Reading. He married the love of his life, Freda Mae Williams, on March 17, 1959. They were married 48 wonderful years and blessed with eight beautiful children. He retired from Tyson Foods after 43 years of service, never missing a day of work. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, daughter Patricia, son Dwayne and brother Bobby.
He is survived by his wife, Freda; five sons and daughters-in-law, James and Karen of Tennessee, Johnny and Tina of Wesley, Joey and Monica of Springdale, Jason and Carrie of Fayetteville, Jeremy and Kim of Siloam Springs; one daughter, Jennifer of Lowell; 10 grandchildren, Josh and wife Jamie, SaVannah, Sean, Brittany, Justin, Kerrigan, Kaitlyn, Caron and Nash; three great-grandchildren, Keelie, Maddex and Maverick; one brother, Dean and wife Sue of Siloam Springs; two sisters, Shirley Phipps of Wesley, Pauline Martin and husband John of Washington state; and one sister-in-law, Rosie Reading of Siloam Springs.
Pallbearers will be Larry Williams, Gene Williams, Roy Self, Freddie Eaton, Bobby Dodson, Billy Hester, Jason Hester and Billy Eubanks. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 22, at Sisco Chapel in Springdale with the Rev. Bill Williams and the Rev. Lowell Sartin officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, March 21, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations for the family may be made to the House of Worship, 22174 Highway 303 North, Hindsville, 72738.
