Columbus Hayles Jr.
SPRINGDALE — Columbus Adrian Hayles Jr., 81, of Springdale died May 8, 2006, at his home. He was born March 4,1925, in Connecticut, Texas, to Columbus Hayles Sr, and Gracy Hobbs Hayles. He was a retired truck driver and security guard from Kawneer.

He attended the House of Prayer in Rogers. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was presented with a letter from President Harry S. Truman for his bravery and dedication. He enjoyed fishing. He was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Fullerton and one daughter, Julie Hayles.

Survivors include his wife, Irma Coop Hayles of the home; two sons, Kenneth Fullerton and Howard Fullerton, both of Springdale; four daughters, Judy Hayles of Las Vegas, Lena Main and husband Ronnie of Lowell, Edith Huffman and husband David of Rogers and Christine Carter and husband Michael of Centerton; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Home in Springdale, online at www.memfuneral.com. Larry Taylor and Danny Sams will officiate.

Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Gary Madl, Mark Upshaw, Sam Taylor, Ronnie Main, Michael Carter and David Huffman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Fink, Harvey Fink, Howard Fullerton, Kenneth Fullerton, Hunter Carter and Cole Carter.
