Marcus “Mark” Leon Montgomery, age 58 of Melbourne, died Feb. 2, 2007, at his home in Melbourne. He was born on May 6, 1948 to Leon Cleo and Lorene Percy Walker Montgomery in Little Rock. He was the owner of Mark Montgomery Trucking Company in Searcy. A graduate of Spartan Aeronautical School, he was a farmer and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leon and an infant sister, Julie Montgomery.

Survivors include his wife Patty Montgomery of the home; one son, Marcus Colt Montgomery of Melbourne; two daughters, Holly Desha Hinton of Searcy and Bonnie Jill Montgomery of Columbia, Mo.; one brother, Robert Montgomery of Judsonia; one sister Joyce Gann of Searcy; one grandson, Steven Russelle of Searcy; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held Monday, Feb 5, 2007 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Melbourne with Bro. Ricky Burke officiating. Interment will follow in the Melbourne Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, Feb 4, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. at the Howard Funeral Home Chapel in Melbourne.

Pallbearers will be Tony Watson, Montie Duncan, Larry Birch, Brad Wheelis, John Gay and Tony Moser. Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Watson, Wayburn Watson, Wes Brown and Bill Nash.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Melbourne First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 554 Melbourne, AR 72556 or the Community Medical Center of Izard County Home Health and Hospice P.O. Box 438 Calico Rock, AR 72519.
