SPRINGDALE — Irene Weeks Hunt, 89, formerly of Springdale, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007, at a nursing facility in Chattanooga, Tenn. A native of Eureka Springs, she was the daughter of Arthur and Amanda Rollins Weeks. She was a member of the Elmdale Baptist Church and was employed with the Springdale Water Office for many years. She was also a volunteer for the Jones Center for Families in Springdale and the Springdale Hospital Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Herrington Hunt, one son, John Rainey Hunt and brother, John Weeks.
Survivors include her daughter, Jean Hunt Gammon of Chattanooga and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at Friendship Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Huffman officiating. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, 58 Commons, Suite 101, 4355 Highway 58, Chattanooga, Tenn. 37416.
Local arrangements are by Sisco Chapel in Springdale.
